03:57 pm - Here we go Well, in the last month I've really just been playing and practicing a lot of baseball. Which is cool with me, not much else is really going on in my life. But it's been pretty boring since our games have got rained out for two weeks. It's ok though because this week is my final Skeltur Tournament. We have a good shot at winning it, as we sit in the two seed spot. We got that two seed due to our spectacular play which pushed our record up to 10-2, with our losses coming from Alva and Watonga. Hopefully after this week we can move that record up to 13-2 and be Skeltur Champs. But, whatever works.

06:58 pm - Baseball After a whirlwind week of baseball practice and me actually feeling good, we had our first game. Combined over the week and a half we probably ran maybe 40 poles. Thats not that many I guess, we could have run more. But Coach H was feeling generous I guess and ran us like normal. I guess all the good practices paid off as we came into our season opener versus the Drummond Bulldogs. We came out hitting in the first inning putting up four runs, and didn't stop until we had the run-rule 12-2 in the fifth inning. It was a great win and sets us up with our second game which is on monday versus rival Garber. I really want to beat them bad.

08:25 pm - Supercuts Rant #2

As previously stated, about a year ago to this very date, I get my hair cut at Supercuts. They do an "ok" job most of the time. But continuing trends have started to occur in my recent few visits. First of all, every time I go and get my hair cut I get the exact same piggly faced hair stylist. Most of the time she's a nice lady, talking to the other stylists and cracking jokes and whatnot. But when it's time for me to be called upon and get my hair cut, she turns into a mean person. But seriously, in my last four visits to "Supercuts" this afore mentioned trend began. It goes something like this, I walk in wait for my turn to be called in and then am called upon to get my hair cut. I take the walk of shame to her throne where the so called "Supercuts" happen. I sit down, then the lady asked me just how I want my hair. I tell her in my nice voice so she'll understand, that I want it cut two inches shorter and off my ears. The first time I told her this, we had no problem, and she cut my hair to my correct specifications. The second time I tell her the exact same things, but this time instead of cutting my hair, she gives me this stupid look and says unpatiently "How do you want it?" Then she hints that I have not told her enough information to cut my hair. I then tell her the exact same things, she gives me the exact same stupid little look back and then my prying eyes force her into just start cutting hair and sighing. After she calms down a bit, she begans that stupid little sidetalk with me. Asking me why I'm getting it cut and stuff and once again I say that I need to look clean cut for whatever sport is going on at the moment. Then she finally starts to remember just a little of the last time she cut my hair, whenever I said the exact same things to her and she says "Yea". A few months later as I am back in Supercuts, my luck then guides me straight back into her devilish chair. I tell her the same things how I want it, and what do you know, she cuts it how I want it. No stupid looks or questions asked. Maybe, just maybe, she's come to the realization that I want my hair cut the same way everytime! Nope, going on with this sad trend I have of crappy hair cuts, I went back to Supercuts yesterday. Once again, I tell her my specifications, and to my dismay I get the stupid smirk and sighs again. At last I get the lady to cut my hair, and this time she gets kind of rough. As she is clipping the hair on the back of my neck, she buzzes a little to deep and cut a straight line across my neck. It still happens to be burning at this moment, but thats not what I'm ranting about here. In closing, I'm sorry that I didn't go to a three week beauty class to learn the correct terminology to tell you how to cut my hair. Just deal with it and give me an overpriced haircut...
(P.S.-If your cool enough to still be looking for Prickett Brothers Productions videos, I'm pretty sure their down. I'm currently deciding on changing sites for the vids, but don't expect anything soon cause I'm lazy.)

07:52 pm - Sick Leave Ahh, its been too long. I'm just now recovering from the illness that has choked me down for about a week, causing me to shed around 10 pounds and miss alot of school. But its ok, I have now battled the disease off and am almost back to normal. In other news, basketball came to a sad end last Friday night. But not before we could capture the first District Championship since I've been in high school. We barely accomplished that, but Petey came through and busted a three with just seconds left to lift us past a lucky shooting South Coffeyville team. Around that time is when I was getting sick. A few days passed and I was sick every one of them. All the way up to Thursday, the day Regionals began, and I was still sick to my stomach. So I didn't get to see the Panthers lose to Pioneer for the third time this year. But that was ok, and we came back the next night to a game we knew we would win. The game was versus Oaks, a small team full of Indians near the border of Arkansas. They didn't look to great, but had a post that was 6'3" tall and about 350 pounds. He wasn't really that great, but he was making all of his shots, and they came back from a 13 point defecit to beat us out of the playoffs by 4 points. It sucks getting beat by fat stinky people but now its baseball season and I guess I'm ready.

06:01 pm - BBALLIN

It's been a long and hard week of PCH basketball, but we finally have come to a break in our schedule. I'll have to go all the way back to last Tuesdays JV letdown against Pioneer. After getting pumped in the locker room, we came out flat. Quickly falling behind, but we kept battling for a while, just trying to keep the loss under 20. But it appeared as though we were fighting a losing battle, as we just didn't have the size or speed to keep up with Pioneer's JV. After last years win over their JV I figured we could pull this one out too, but I was terribly wrong. This loss brought our record down to an average 5-1-1.
But we had something to look forward too, as we were informed that we had a JV matchup versus the Drummond Bulldogs. It felt good to finally be the better team again as I dropped a career high 12 points in route to a reasserting 20 point win over a weak Drummond JV, bumping our record up to a above average 6-1-1. The following Monday, we had a scheduled game versus the number 1 ranked Okeene Whippets. Thankfully, their JV wasn't so lofty. Even though they had about 20 kids suited up on their Junior Varsity bench. This was my final JV game in my illustrious career at PCH and it turned out to be a thriller. We were determined to not come out slow, as we had in our two previous JV matchups, and we came out pretty strong. Taking a quick 8-2 lead early, we just couldn't hang on. Turnovers and poor execution put us down by 8 at the half. Coach Jones was pretty upset and told us to head down to the locker room, where we expected the usual halftime talk. But it wasn't quite what we expected, as he ended up throwing our messed up stereo directly on the ground as he demonstrated defensive stance, then picked up a speaker and threw it across the locker room as he told us we needed to execute better, then wrapped up the speech by throwing the other speaker and the stereo across the room to join its counterpart. I figured that this would give us a spark. I was wrong, and we quickly fell behind by 14. The fourth quarter rolled around and we were still down by double figures. Then I got the spark I needed, by taking on their tall post and just fouling the crap out him until he got called for a double dribble. On the ensuing possession I got the post on the wing and dribbled right past the same tall post man, as I went up for the layup he fouled me hard from behind. That was it, after I got up I chested up to him as I walked by. I heard him mutter "Do it, Do it" I guess refering me to punch him or something. I dunno. But I went to the line and made 1 out of the 2, and now I was pumped up. I guess everyone else caught a spark too, because we then went on a quick run late in the fourth quarter. Narrowing the gap to a measly 2 points with about thirty seconds left. Luckily we had the ball and I called for it on the inside, hoping for the game tieing shot. But to my dismay I was doubled, but I saw lanky Joseph Miller wide open in three point range in the corner. I tossed him the rock and he then fired up the possible game winning shot, it fell short but was kicked out of bounds by an Okeene player. Coach Jones then drew up a pretty good play that would either leave the game tieing shot in my hands or the game winning shot in frosh Johnie Michael's. As the play progressed it looked as though I had a shot for it, but John's throw was errant and fell out of bounds. With about 15 seconds left to play we still had a chance, but for some reason no one fouled until the clock had run down to about 8. The Whippet player made one out of two freethrows, sending the second one towards the sideline. I ripped it down and passed it out to all around baller Justin Holden, he pushed the ball up the court and looked to get the ball to JMike. The clock was ticking down when J got the ball and he had to throw up an NBA range threw for the tie. Sadly, the ball fell short and the JV suffered its second loss of the season in my very last JV game. A win would have been sweet, but not even the Chicago Bulls won them all...
After that whirlwind game, I was exhausted. I got to watch our varsity play the number one team in our class pretty darn close. But we finally fell in the end losing by 20. But this all leads up to yesterday, Tuesday, February the 6th. It was Senior night for the class of 2007. Due to some pretty fine scheduling we were going up against lowly Billings. I got word that I was starting in practice, and was glad even though I was still a little tired from the intense JV game the night before. It felt pretty good to be repping the JV while starting the game. It also felt pretty sweet having the other four starters looking to get me the rock. It all started with me dropping the first 4 points of the ballgame, about three minutes into the game, during a Billings timeout, Coach told me he was going to see how good of shape I am in, by never taking me out the whole game. By this time my adrenaline was flowing by means of the crowd and our bench, so I was pretty pumped for this opportunity. I went into the half with 12 points and all of my adrenaline still flowin. Everyone seemed determined to get my 20 points and I felt like that would be a pretty good goal. As the third quarter began, a scoring drought also began for me, so I started dishing some assists out. I then wound up with a steal, a monster block, and some floor shaking rebounds. I finally broke my drought with a score down by the basket. Then Coach transferred me to the wing, trying to get me some three balls. I then proceeded to miss threes back and forth until I drained one early in the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter was full of misses by me, but it was ok, cause I liked playing with the crowds hearts. Listening to their "Awwss" when I missed, ok just kidding I couldn't make anything. Late in the fourth I was informed during a timeout that I was 4 rebounds away from a double double, booya. I then proceeded to crash the boards like Dennis Rodman, adding my 19th point off a rebound. But the crowd still was cheering for me to get twenty. At last I got my double double with about 45 seconds left in the game, the bench erupted, it was sweet. With about 10 seconds remaining I grabbed a board and just started pushing the ball up the court looking to break 20. Alas, the ball was stripped from me midcourt and I just missed scoring 20 points. It was alright though, because that was the funnest game of my life. Afterwards as we sat in the locker room, Coach Jones awarded me with the game ball, which I had not really expected, it made the night even sweeter. The best part of the whole game was the fact that fellow JV members who don't get to play much like myself were giving up wide open looks to pass it to me, even if I wasn't open at all. For that I salute them, their the best JV anyone could ever ask for. They helped push an actual individual sports achievement into my Top Ten Prickett Sports Highlights, I would probably rate it #1 or #2, the only reason it wouldn't be #1 is because the game was freakin awesome. But now that I think about it they probably tie.
That about wraps up this busy week for me, basketball districts kick off this Friday at Pond Creek. But we got a bye the first round, ensuring our place in Regionals. Booya.

09:19 pm - Scratches and JV

Another good week of the Skeltur Tournament is over with. This being my final one I decided to go out a bang, by playing more in one game in than I had in the previous three years combined. I also put up a rim rocking three points. The Panthers won their first opening round game at the tourny in my tenure also, putting us in a Saturday night game. But alas, we could not make it to the Championship, after handing it to Waukomis in round 1 we got it handed to us by Pioneer in the Semis. So were set up for round two versus the Cimarron Trailblazers, with the winner taking third place. Of course we won revenging our previous loss and actually winning a plaqued this year, which I got to go out and get. Tomorrow is where it all begins, we take our second shot at Pioneer. Hoping for a Post Tournament let-down from them, since they won Skeltur. But all I really care about is beating their JV. In what may be my final Junior Varsity game I am going to try my damndest to put us on top and keep the JV undefeated. We better win.
If your wondering about the long scar on my face in the picture, that is that handy work of Mick the cat. Somehow amidst his early morning routine of trying to wake me up, he scratched the crap out of my face. He really does have the spunk that his namesake does, aka Mickey Goldmill.

06:42 pm - Homecoming Stuff

Well this past week flew by, since school got canceled due to ice on Monday. But it was homecoming week and it was celebrated well. Of course I'm too cool to actually dress up on the dress up days. But first things first, the JV took care of Garbers JV too improve our record to a lofty 4-0-1. After that game was over our varsity barely lost to a good Garber team, dropping our record to 11-2.
On Thursday we found out we will be hosting our first playoff pairings in ten or so years. Giving us a good chance to actually get out of districts for once. Then Friday came along and it was Homecoming time, I was dissappointed to find out that our scheduled JV game had been canceled. I barely made it through the rest of the day, until last hour came around and it was time for our class superhero skits during the Pep Rally. Although it wasn't really comparable to my Football Pep Rally performance, the skit on the whole was pretty good. Giving the seniors a sweet pop and popcorn party. Booya. After school was dismissed, I messed around for a while then got ready for the Homecoming Crowning (which I was a candidate for). Of course the my whole family and their boyfriend/girlfriend was there, besides Charlie and Lisa (who were to good to make the trip from D.C.). If you haven't figured out by now, I was crowned the King of the 2007 PC-H Homecoming. So now I will be able to woo little high school girls when I come back for Homecoming years from now. Which I am looking forward to, but since we played Medford in our Homecoming extravaganza, I got some playing time. Busting out 4 points and pulling down 3 boards. Praise Jesus.
This week the Skeltur Conference Tourny hits Enid, so watch out.........

06:36 pm - New Year #2
Oh no, I'm sort of slacking on my live journal duties. But oh well, no one probably reads this crap anymore. Who am I kidding, I'm freakin Austin Prickett, people are just dieing to get with me. Mmm, that feels nice. Anyways, I've been doing absolutely nothing, besides chillaxing with my bro Charlie, playin around with the new kitty kitty Mick, and basketball. I've also been gettin some brownie points in with Mrs. Burnham so maybe she can get me some pull in the selection of Academic Bowl All State. I'm just hoping I can make it. Besides the coolness that is me, I've got nothing to talk about. Since I depleted most of my updating energy on the NCAA Pick Em's Wrap Up go check it out..........
